Dr. Jennifer Caparoon

Originally from Durant, OK, I began my career at Southeastern Oklahoma State University and then began vet school at Oklahoma State University, where I graduated with awards in 1997. I have worked alongside colleagues in Oklahoma, Texas, and New York, being able to see and practice many different aspects of veterinary medicine.

Returning to Oklahoma, I married my middle school sweetheart, and together, we have five children and have recently become grandparents to a wonderful little boy! We share our home with four dogs and three cats. After working in a mixed animal practice, I decided to open 49th Street Veterinary Clinic, where I have continued my passion for small animal companion care.

Dr. Toby Connolly

I went to Southeastern Oklahoma State University for my undergraduate work and Ross University for vet school. I followed vet school with my clinical year at Oklahoma State University.

I interned at the Surgical Center at Brown Equine Somerset, PA. I spent six years doing ambulatory work in the north Fort Worth area. Last year, I started at 49th Street Veterinary Clinic. I like to hunt, fish, rope, and spend time outdoors in my free time.

Dr. Sofia Miles

I am originally from South America and moved to the States in 2010. I graduated from Oklahoma State University in 2013 with a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. I have been a General Practitioner with a focus on surgery. I enjoy client communication and educating the owners to help treat their beloved pets. I enjoy hunting and spending time with my family.

Katie Prather

(RVT)

An Oklahoma native, I grew up with many different animals and always had an interest in wildlife and exotic animals. I graduated from Murray State College, majoring in Veterinary Nursing in 2017. I have worked in a clinic since 2015 with many different species, such as monkeys, whitetail deer, and large and small companion animals. I thoroughly enjoy emergency medicine and client education in hopes of aiding pet owners in treating their furry family members. I enjoy anything outdoors – hunting, fishing, and camping.

Savannah Grace

(Office Manager)

I am originally from New Mexico and moved to Durant, OK, in 2013. I have always had a passion for animals and thus started my career in the veterinary field. For ten years, I have enjoyed assisting in helping with client education on how to care for their pets. I enjoy bow fishing, camping, and boating with my family.

Sabrina Bergmann

(Office Manager)

Sabrina’s first experience caring for animals began with a county animal shelter in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. She volunteered there for four years as an adoption counselor and fostered a total of 40 cats and kittens, including when she fostered 22 at once.

Sabrina has been a part of 49th Street since joining us as a receptionist. She was promoted to manager of the pet spa in December of 2022. Since then, she has dedicated herself to our furry friend’s health and well-being by working closely with the veterinary clinic and pet owners.
She has shown her passion for animals by creating a safe, welcoming environment. You’ll often find her running around, ensuring each dog receives total and appropriate care.

Sabrina always has a bright smile and friendly personality when greeting our clients and guests.
During her occasional downtime, she enjoys holding and interacting with the fur babies who need a little extra attention and reassurance.

Tara Long

(Pet Care Supervisor)

Tara Long, our pet care supervisor, joined our team on November 16th, 2022. She has studied and learned many pet behaviors to diligently inform clients of their pets’ well-being. Tara has been training and caring for dogs since she was 14 years old. Tara’s experience began with her pets, Daisy-May and Nala, and continued as she branched out to family and friends. Once she turned 18, she brought her dog behavior and caretaking knowledge to our facility.

She loves to care for the animals by interpreting their emotions and behaviors and using that information to socialize them properly. She has been very informative with the clients about training techniques and behaviors, ensuring they receive the best care possible. She enjoys her time with 49th Street and continues her education by consuming countless resources. Tara is excited to meet your fur baby – Book for daycare or boarding now!

Chris Hammack

I have been a groomer for six years now. Before that, I had always said I wanted to work with dogs because I felt a connection with them. I’ve always been told dogs seem to love me; I believe they know and feel my love for them. One day, a pet store I worked for offered me a grooming position, and I quickly built a knack for it. It felt like fate. Now, you can find me at 49th Street Pet Spa. Grooming for 49th Street is awesome because we have a great team that loves dogs as much as I do. Plus, we have much more to offer here, like day camp and boarding. In addition, we have veterinary staff on call for emergencies or vaccinations that your furbabies might need while visiting us!

Tabitha Wilson

Grooming has been a passion of mine for years now. I have learned many new techniques that have strengthened my skills and developed my style. My favorite part is delivering the finished product to the clients and seeing their gratifying reaction! I have been working on my creative grooming skills and enjoy surprising clients by making their dream dye a reality. I enjoy building relationships with both my clients and the owners. I love each dog like they’re my own

Mikayla Douglas

Meet Mikayla. She joined our grooming team about a year ago and always gives her coworkers something to smile about. Mikayla has been in the pet service industry for over two years. She lives in Durant with her five dogs and is passionate about creating a warm, relaxed grooming experience. Mikayla works hard to secure the trust of dogs with anxiety by spending time reading their fears and adjusting her methods to accommodate them. Mikayla’s favorite dogs to groom are bully breeds, and she’s always up for the challenge of teaching puppies how to sit well during the grooming process.
